The following comments are a culmination of individual experiences from residents of the street closest to this churches location who have been directly impacted by the activities mentioned. ~
We have lived in the neighborhood for over 20 yrs. Since this church was built, we have seen nothing but more traffic, more trash, more noise and more crime. Each time this church has hosted large events, we have had to contend with very large and somewhat unruly crowds, vehicles blocking our driveways, individuals attempting to park on our side lawn and in ours and the neighbors driveways, cars parked on both sides of Renn Road from Synott Road up to Pottinger. We've been cursed at by some individuals when we've asked them to park in the church parking lot. They claim that they can't find a parking place in the church's parking lot and it makes me wonder exactly how many people are in the building if all the spots are taken. These "church events" have started from as late as 8:00 pm and lasted until 6:30 am, with constant noise from live bands playing music, car horns and groups of people yelling and drinking in the church parking lot. I ask what kind of CHURCH does that? They have little or no regard for the residents of this area with all of their members and guests coming from outside the neighborhood. We have endured this with little or no relief for more than 6 yrs now. We have had to call the police and tow truck companies on many occasions and nothing has changed. Calling the pastor of this church is futile, as he never responds. Today in fact, my son and I came outside to find flyers from the church in our yard, on our vehicles and in our mail box for yet another event! I find it ironic that they have a "NO TRESPASSING" sign on the lamp post at the entrance to their church, yet feel it is completely acceptable to park on our properties and trespass! Maybe all that money they rake in from these events needs to go to building a bigger parking lot so they can accommodate all the traffic from their side business because what we have witnessed does not fall in line with ANY religious practice or worship that we know of. If there wasn't a cross on top of the building and a sign identifying this place as a church, you could easily mistake it for a nightclub and we have begun to question whether or not these events are indeed church related business or their way of creating a social club for it's members to avoid paying taxes. Meanwhile, we get the distinct displeasure of being woken by their activities in the wee hours of the morning on weekends and weekdays of which I have videos to show the cars parked blocking our driveways and on our property, as well as all the cars parked on Renn Road creating a hazard for other drivers using the road by reducing the amount of space in the lanes. I would hate to think what could happen if there was an emergency and emergency response vehicles could not reach their destination in time because this road was congested needlessly. Not only is it an almost constant annoyance it also hurts our property values, who wants to live near that?
