  • I cannot say enough good things about Ascension. It is an extremely friendly church. It is also a very beautiful church. We've been members for less than a year and it took 2 visits (one with the children and one with my husband) and we knew this was the church home for us. I particularly love the fact that the sermons are to the point, about something I can identify with and most importantly NOT TOO LONG!

If you're tired of the mega churches, the 'buy your way to heaven' type churches where you are just a warm body, I strongly suggest come to Ascension. The children's programs are great--they managed to hook my son during the summer when children's program are usually not at full swing!

I can go on and on. Most importantly, this is a nice sized church where it is easy to meet many people--and actually remember them! And most importantly, they remember you.

It is located in the Westchase district and is very easy to get to. If you are on the fence about trying something new...please come!

  • We were searching for a new church home and are so pleased to have found just that in Ascension! Having grown up in a small church as a child, I wanted my children to know the love that comes from knowing all generations. I wanted them to be greeted each week by people who knew who they were. I wanted them to participate in Sunday School and Children's Church and for them to grow in their knowledge of Christ in a welcoming and open forum. As a bonus my husband and I have also found ways to connect and be involved. The ministry opportunities are many and the passion for outreach is evident! We are thrilled to call Ascension our home, and we welcome anyone looking for a church home to come see for yourself!

  • This is a wonderful church! My mother took me here a few years back, and ever since I've loved it. I cook breakfast there with a good friend of mine, and it's a whole lot of fun! I definitely recommend it.

  • If you are looking for a church that is welcoming, I invite you to visit Ascension. We found this church after moving to Houston just over a year ago. After trying several churches in the area, and we felt so at home at Ascension that we've attended services since. Our kids love the childrens' chapel and the nursery, and we love that Pastor Todd includes them in the procession and dismissal. It's a rather small church, and we love having a welcoming church family. Come as you are, and the Episcopal church will welcome you!

  • This is a great church. Whether you are a lifelong Episcopalian, a member of another denomination, a member of none, or are just curious about the Christian faith, Ascension may be what you are looking for in a church. We have attended the church for about a year now and feel blessed to have the opportunity. Traditional Episcopal liturgy with plenty of Christ's love. The Episcopal Church Welcomes You in West Houston.
