  • This is my home church. My family has been here for 16 years. It's like a family. There are people here that I know love me and that is such a blessing in my life. I know I have people here I could go to if I ever needed help. Also the preaching is biblical, genuine, and applicable to life. Bro. Jene Conwell (the pastor) is a very genuine, down to earth person, who has been through hardship. His wife was killed in an automobile accident in 2001 on her way to church, so he's knows what it's like to experience grief. But soon after that, his sermons seemed to get even better than before and very applicable to our daily struggles as they focused on topics such as "Why do bad things happen to good people?" Our church as a whole can be kind of shy, but really we do love having visitors and making new friends, and want to expand our church and ministry. Please come and say hi!! It really would brighten our day to see you, and hopefully brighten yours. :) By the way, we won't ask you for a penny. We don't even pass around the offering plates as part of the service, but have it set up where people (members?) can give money as they see fit. Some more points:
    * We have people here of all ages from infant to about 100 (mostly on the older side now, but we still have young people that come regularly and young families)
*Good sized choir for a church this size
    *Godly teachers
*Special events (Christmas Drama, VBS, Harvest Festival, etc)
*Both the pastor and music minister have gone to seminary and seem well educated (Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, I believe).
    *Conservative
    *Hymns
*Formal and informal at the same time (we have a respect for God and His church, and have a regular order we do things, but we have room to be human too)
*Dress up or down (as long as it's respectful and modest, basically. Dresses and/or blue jeans are fine)
*Don't worry about anything and just come meet us! Lol.

If you need a church family, people who care, a good place to learn about spiritual things, please come visit and say hi! :)

(P.S. Google Maps has two names listed at this church's location, but Calvary Baptist Church is the only one here).

The 4 stars instead of 5 is only because we still have room to grow.
