My grandmother passed a month ago. We were just told we couldn't place any monuments, so we didn't. The picture above is the way we decorated just TWO weeks ago. This past week was the day they "clean" and I thought that meant that they picked up the dead flowers, etc. No. They took EVERYTHING. We spent ~100 on these things. We were NEVER told by the staff, nor do the signs say they do this. This is unacceptable. If it wasn't for us being familiar with someone near my grandmother, I wouldn't even know where she's at. As you can see on the bottom picture, there is nothing there.

I would not recommend forest park to anyone. I am so, so frustrated with this place. I recently lost my mother and sister. I went in on 3/18 to order a double marker. I returned a week later to pay in full. Here we are 15 weeks later and still no marker. I originally went to a different place, paid 1/2 my money down and the place up and moved. I contacted BBB and I received my money back, I then went into forest park to order the marker, I explained about my experience with previous location and I was told we will get your Mothers and sister's marker, we are a big company, we stand behind our word, oh really, Every time I call it is something different, I received a text today and was told it will be here by the first week of next month. Oh My Goodness, 1st week of next month comes in and I will be told something different. Ugh, I've had it with forest park. Enough is enough, I just my mothers and sister maker. I would not give a star but it would not let me post.

I like that they keep the cemetery up, but my problem is their workers not "bringing their rain boots" to walk me out to see where I will be laying my son to rest. On top of that once he was laid to rest did they not tell me his space could not have a headstone but a marker only! I was livid! Then as I requested someone else's to help me that person never returned my calls or messages or emails regarding my son's marker! Told me to call to check on it, yet when i call to check on it they don't know anything. Luckily it was there by chance on his 1 year anniversary. If I could have him brought up I would and placed somewhere else!

I am less than thrilled with Forest Park. I bought two crypts, one for my late mother and one for my husband and myself. My mother passed in December and at the time I was NEVER told we couldn't put anything at her site, except a monument, which I was fine with. I saw many people had decorated with Christmas trees, fences, balloons, etc. All of these things are what attracted me to this cementary. I decided to decorate around January, and spent over $100 on the decor. A week later, I went to visit and it was ALL gone. There was a sign that said they'd be picking up FLOWERS, which I assumed dead flowers. No. They took it ALL. I was told by people that went to visit loved ones in the surrounding area that they take everything within those dates. There was no way to recover anything. It was until a few weeks ago that I went to get informed on when we COULD place and how their pick up days work. They said we could decorate as we desired, but once those "cleanup days" come, to take your belongings and bring them back. So I went ahead and bought $100 worth of decorations again, including a cross with her name on it. Gone. Again. All of it. Even the CROSS. Now, I went and had a meeting with a rep and was basically told that those "cleanup" days mean nothing, because they picked up all we had when it is far from the last and next cleanup day. And NOW I'm being told we cannot decorate at all, but put flowers in the vase THEY sell. Only time we can decorate are for major holidays. One week. And there are no major holidays EVERY month. This means, my mother will not have ANYTHING next month, since the place marker will not be ready for another few months. Had I known this, I would have never bought my mother and my crypt here. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the way this has been handled. Now my mother's burial site is nothing but a block of grass with no indication anyone is in there. I would not recommend for anyone to buy their loved ones a crypt here. Unless you're okay with being limited to just placing flowers on an overpriced vase they sell, which many times is stolen or thrown away by the cleaup crew.

My son is in Forest Park Lawndale. I visit often, and is really close to my office. I enjoy sitting for hours during my visit because it's so peaceful.
BUT!!!! THE EMPLOYEES OF FOREST LAWN HAVE NO DRIVING SKILLS OR CONSIDERATION FOR ANY ONE ON THE ROAD. I have made several phone calls to the main office to complain. One employee rear ended me a few years ago while texting/talking on the phone.. Did not even touch the brake prior to hitting me. And he is one of 3 people that drive the same way. If they are running 3 min late to work, school zones or common courtesy does not apply. It's like they have more respect for the deceased, than the living-or just looking for a new customer by self inflection..This has been going on for at least 5 years. This am, same deal.. pushing through a school zone, unsafe lane change, tail gating.. I will continue to complain until I receive a formal public apology, and be assured corrective measures have taken place.Added September 03, 2016 by Dennis Bowden
