  Ladies from First Missionary Baptist Church in Lufkin and I were blessed to attend INSPIRE WOMEN Conference. This morning I was scanning channels and I saw the picture of a giant cross flash across the screen, I knew it had to be Sagemont, the only place I ever saw such amazement. The service came in under Living Truth, then later confirmed it was Sagemont. God is amazing at orchestrating our lives.

  Sagemont Church is a bible based church, meaning all teachings are from God's Word from the Bible! Brother John has been my pastor since 1980 when I came by invitation. I have enjoyed serving in the church during the years there in various positions. The people you meet are those who will become life long friends. The church is large, but the love within makes it feel like a small neighborhood church. I love the staff and atmosphere. God is present here.

  The sermon was great, however, I did not feel welcome by the people that were supossed to "greet" me. After purchasing coffee from their cafe I was "greeted" with "you can't bring that in here." After me and my daughtet drank half of it and threw the rest away, the same lady told us we had to wait to sit down... After I watched several other people take their seats, to which she made rude gestures and gave dirty looks, I was finally able to join my mother for the service.

  The giant cross in the sky marks the location of Sagemont Church. It pulls in quite the crowd from around the surrounding neighborhood and community.

  Family members attend here. It is too big for my taste but they do well to be friendly and organized for how big it is. Music is great and the sermons are always well rooted in scripture.
